WITH YOUR HANDS

As a young child I spent summers at my grandparents rural ranch where I was left to frolic in the tall grass, pick wild blackberries, sew doll clothes, and toll paint small figurines that my papa had cut on his jigsaw. It was my summer education in life skills including sewing, canning, cooking, painting, gardening, foraging, hunting, and collecting. These types of lessons taught me the joy in dreaming up and creating things by hand, inspired by my environment.
